welding?
it broke right at header. there is a curved pipe connected to muffler, this curved pipe is held onto engine(header) with two bolts. the one bolt snapped off and is not wanting to come out with a remover. on the other side there is a bracket type piece built onto engine that the other bolt screws into, and this completely broke off. so i cannot drill out and re-tap. so i was thinking welding pipe straight onto engine then welding curved pipe onto that pipe.

welding?
I had a case cover welded once on my 86 LT230. It broke right across an important bolt hole. I thought it was aluminium, the machinist told me it wasnt as soon as he saw it. He said he didnt know what exactly it was but some sort of alloy maybe part aluminium. He was a confident dude, he siad he would find out what it was and fix it bolt hole and all. He did but I forget what he said it was made of. It cost me around $60.
