Raptor Starting Problem
#1
When trying to start my raptor the switch located back by the battery buzzzzzzzz's and the engine doesn't turn over. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you rectify it? Thanks for your feedback...

Make sure buzzing switch (starter solenoid) does not have a fuse blown and it's 2 connections atop of it are tight. Next, make sure your battery is fully charged and your + and - battery cables are tight. If nothing happens still put a jumper across the 2 connections atop the starter solenoid. If it starts cranking you need a new solenoid. They usually run around $30.

This happend to me twice it's what brought me to this site. The first time I had the ground cable from the engine case and the cable from the starter swapped they both had black ends and when routing them I just got them crossed. Before I found the problem that time I already purchased a new relay.
The second time (knowing the relay was good) I thought it was the starter because my battery showed 12.5vdc I even had it hooked up to a charger with a high amperage starting setting and still nothing. Luckly I found found a used starter on ebay for 20 bucks but when I installed it I had the same problem. The only thing left was the battery so I got a new one I have'nt had a problem since.
Looking back if you think about the life span of the parts under normal conditions I think they would fail in order of the battery, the relay then the starter. So if all things are the same age and it worked last time you rode I would start with the battery.
