hi...i am new to the forum. i purchased a 2001 warrior this year. i love it. the looks the power everything. question i have is what tires would be good for it. i do all trail riding..mud,hills, etc. problem i am having is when i get in the loose stuff at the top of a hill i am losing traction. to the point that i get stuck or in the last case gave it too much gas it caught and i flipped it. i have 22-11-10 strikers on it right now. want to stay with 22's for the ground clearance as all the guys i ride with are riding 4x4's and they dont worry bout me bottoming out. lol. any help would be appreciated. thank you!!!!

 

If you do allot of trail riding and like the the steep rocky nasty stuff then drop your front gear from a (im guesing) 13 to a 12 and put on 25s my recommended tire is a mud machine tri claw their kinda spendy and hard to find but way worth it

 

Another option is Interco Swamp Lites. These are great tires in the mud and have great trail abilities. They are not all that heavy either. These will give you great traction up those slippery hills and through the grimy mud as well as power you through the corners on the trails.

You could also get Rarz or Maxxis tires. i have a yamaha warrior 98, borded out and fmf exhaust with holeshot razr tires. I ride steep hills, deep mud pits, road, and fields. I haven't got stuck yet and been ridin it for two years. the holeshot tires are wider than mud tires which provides more traction and treads are thick. Plus they look sick on a warrior.

 

If you do actually trail ride think about the 20in logs and 36in rocks gain tire size and options for tires in trail riding would be kenda bear claws, itp mud lites, maybe maxxis sur trac, and in my opinion the mud machine tri claws

 

I too do trails mainly on my warrior and i have Realtor Sure Sports. Theyre great, they are good for mud sand and snow cause they have bar shaped treads in the center. Plus they are pretty large for sport tires

 

I strictly do trails but I have found that a 25in tire it the only way to smoke the 4wds any bar shaped or paddle style tire will work great but hight is key.

Go with 22" interco swamplites. I had them on my warrior, and it would go anywhere without hesitation as long as at least one tire had some rubber on the ground. They had so much bite that I could go out into a wet grassy field, throw the warrior sideways and gas it, and it would come out of the corner doing a one-wheel wheelie. Tears the hell out of the yard though haha. The swamplites are very versatile tires (I did everything from mud bogs to mx with mine), they're extremely resistant to damage, and the tread is very deep so they last forever.

25's are just too big for any sport quad, so whovever is suggesting that is out of their mind. If you need 25's you're riding the wrong machine to begin with.

razr's, holeshots, and other knobbies like that are ok all-around tires, but not that great for dedicated trail riding. The problem I always had with them was mud, knobby tires like that don't clean out at all, they just turn into a big smooth roller of mud.

I'm actually considering a set of the same thing for my 700 when the stock tires are shot, i'm just not sure that they would look right on the raptor, and I would rather stay with 20" on it for handling.

well i guess my trail riding is little bit more narrly but if you live in montana you need the clearance of a 25 and the set of ***** to go with it
