I'm just curious about how the chain adjustment works? I havn't seen any comments on it. Is it better than other designs? Looks kind of bulky.

I have not had a quad before this Raptor, but I think it is pretty easy to adjust. The only problems I have is when I have it aligned like I want it and put the finishing tightening on it, it pulls the right side back about a half a notch or so. Through a little trial and error I seem to be able to align it better by tightening the large bottom nut first and then the top one. I always seem to do things the hard way, so I would also be interested in how someone else does it.

Its easy. First you take the to black nuts on both sides of the rear swing arm and loosen them then take the two gold colored screws and move them in or out. Its right in the owners books.

How does the Raptor adjustment compare to the old Banshee design? Does it come loose with heavy riding?

The Raptor chain adjustment procedure is simple once chain adjustment has been done a time or two. Simply loosen the locking nuts on the brake side of the housing and set the adjuster screws for proper chain sag. This design is better than the Banshee, but not as good as the 400ex set-up. Also, the adjusters don't come loose with heavy riding. The Banshee I had (and still ride frequently) has no problems with the adjusters coming loose either. Take a good look at the Raptor swingarm while adjusting the chain....very BEEFY.
