Are you mxzeatr from dootalk???
I've got a 450 with 5000 km on it, it seems to be developing some axle issues, wheel flanges are getting sloppy, not sure if it's the axle or flange. I did notice that they have an updated part number on the microfiche sites, maybe there was a fix for it.
I've had it up to 92 km/h... it's pretty good but nowhere near the 650 Prairie I used to have.... It dosen't have the power ofcourse but it also feels heavier to handle which is odd as it is actually listed at about 60 lbs lighter than the kaw. It seems tippier as well and I have to really work to get it to powerslide even with bald stock tires.

I have the same name on there... not around much any on that site or this one.... busy.</end quote></div>
Well it is also the summer.. not much Sled talk going on... though I did just buy a case (3 1 gallon jugs) of BRP XPS SemiSyn-Blend 2-stroke oil for $80 bucks! Which is a deal since this stealership hasn't raised the prices yet... I am seriuously thinking about getting another case......
Afterall.. oil doesn't go bad.. and we all know it will just keep getting more and more expensive....

I sure am the Mxzeatr from Dootalk. Hmmm....I wonder whats going on with your rear axle. I don't know much about these quads at all. This is my first one. Mine doesn't slide too much, but with me on it what would slide! HAHAHAHA
I really think the tires were the best money I could have spent, I couldn't get anywhere with the old ones, now I have some confidence and I feel it's helped my riding ability already too!

I'm on dootalk all year long. Too much really! But sledding has always been a passion of mine so....
Thats a great deal on oil, I would def. get another case as it never goes bad!!! I typically run mineral oil and can get a case of 3 for 55.00 or so at the snow shows. We'll see what it is this year! I'm going home to work on my sled this weekend (Stored in nothern mi at my parents place) I'm pumped!!!!

I just noticed there was no front rack on that quad... it looks... naked... without it. Your plastic looks to be in better shape than mine, my foot wells are trashed and there is one crack in my front fender on the outside edge just above where the foot well screws to it. Is there a way to weld plastic fenders??? I've done my share of welding ski-doo windsheilds back together with a solder gun (ugly but cheap lol).

Hey mxzeater,
I was just wondering, did you notice any power loss with the heavier tire? I plan to get some 26 or 27 mudlites next year and some alloy SS rims (maybe). I went from stock dunlops on my Prairie 650 to ITP 589s so I know what you mean about the difference in a cheap stock tire and a good agressive one. The only mistake I made was cheaping out on the rims, went with ITP Delta steel rims and they were WAY TOO HEAVY.
P.S. Check my update in my axle problem thread, there is some advice for anyone with this machine.
