Ohlins or TCS shocks? The dealer I race for can get ohlins, which of these 2 are better?

Thanks.

TCS are rebuilds of your own factory units i think? They are very good. Aftermarket Ohlins are probably better. The last I had heard they had almost finished a new line oh Hi perf shocks, the first model they made was due to go on the raptor.

TCS fronts are improved Works shocks, similar to PeP. The rear is a dual spring, revalved stock shock.

I haven't heard many people rave about Ohlins ATV shocks.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Ohlins are not custom built to your application. They are assembled in Europe and shipped over, "one size fits all".

At MX and Cross country races that I have attended, I have seen many bikes equipped with Works, TCS, PeP, and Axis. I don't remember seeing many, if any Ohlins. Winning bikes are usually on the latter 3.

For a Raptor, I'd especially recommend a ZPS style shock (like a TCS or PeP - Axis can also be configured this way) due to the lowered ride height.

Of course, any aftermarket shocks should be a vast improvement over stock.

just as he said, ohlins are NOT custom built, thus go with the TCS which are made for you. I talked to shoc connection about ohlins and they said tcs are better although they don't sale tcs. also he said since ohlins are made in sweden it'll be a WHILE before they are around.

I had a set of Ohlins shocks on my bike for awhile (a Banshee) what a mistake, the shocks are/were a nightmare, I'd adjust them to handle the big stuff and they would hop all over in the small stuff, I'd get them to handle the small stuff and they would bottom out bad in the big stuff. They are okay for mild trail riding but NOT for racing, especially MX, I switched over to Axis and absolutely love them, they are perfect! I dont have any experience firsthand with TCS but have heard nothing but good about them.

JUST BEG FOR AXIS

Please clarify, I'm not sure I understand your request.

Typically when people talk about the 400EX or 250R handling so well, they are not talking about the stock shocks, they are mainly talking about the chassis geometry, if that's what you are asking.

I'm sorry for this question, but, what are the "BEST" (bar none) TCS shocks I can buy and where is the best place to get them? Thanks!

Which ones are the best?
Who owns Ohlins? come on, someone gotta know! Right! Yamaha owns Ohlins.
Easy conclusion. Ohlins are the best...well...being japan controlled, you won't get BS...just that they aren't technologically very advanced.
If I can suggest you a *ucking good shock (but I don't know if they build them for quads), it's Donerre. A french company, and their shocks are unbelievable!! They won the Paris Dakar more than once...but again, I don't know if they make them for quads.
Ohlins is nothing fancy (no color...), but will work great. Japan controlled. It's all there.
