Default Raptor charging problem

I have a 2006 Raptor with a new battery. The lights will work but the electric start will not crank my raptor. I hooked it up the the trickle charger and it claims that the battery is charged. When I try to start it, it sounds like the battery is not charged and it will not start. Does anyone know what the problem is? I think it might have a problem in the solenoid but I am no mechanic....any suggestions?
