Default complete teardown of 88 warrior

i have an 88 warrior and the crank locked up. its the first warrior i ve torn down and i have several questions now that im putting it back together if anyone has done this please let me know. i was wondering right now about the counterweight type thing thats right next to the crank, i was wondering if there is a certain way to set it,......just where it doesn t hit the crank or does it need to be a lil more precise. any advice is appreciated.

that counter weight has a timing mark on the gear, that lines up with another gear that slides over the clutch side of the crank, i think it lines up with the gear that is over top the oil pump gear.

yea that s what i thought, i lined the two dots up ( the one on the weight and the one on the crank) but when i turn the crank the two bump into eachother. i dunno if im doin somethin wrong but dang it can t be more to it than jus lining up the dots right??

http://www.sandwizards.com/Service_Manuals/warrior.pdf Heres an online manual. May not be your exact year, but the bottom end should be the same. I always paid somebody to rebuild my bottom end. Always seemed like there were too many small parts that could be disasterous if not installed just right.

hmm wow how loud is it when u spin it over? abrupt stop or just like it skims the side of the counterweight or what?it might just sound like its hitting but its not. when u spin it with your hand its so slow that it doesnt work like it would when its running, as long as it still spins freely thats prolly what it is. cuz mine made a noise like that when i rebuilt my low end and me and my dad were worried at first but then we realized what it was. we heard two little noises one was that and the other was the clutch making a small clack noise. we ofcourse heard it with just holding the rod and spinning the crank freehand

This wouuld be a great time to have some engine mods done... maybe a big bore and stroke job, plus a hotter cam.
