Clamp on Air Filter
#2
Excellent modification, I assume you are using an adaptor from Pro Design? The stock filters are not held in very well im sure you know. I have a clamp-on on my Grizzly, and I have an outerwear cover for the filter.
Will you be getting a K&N or Uni filter? and pipe eventually? if so I would get a jet kit for the carb to help with the extra air in and out of the engine.

run dual k&n clamps with outwears for my banshee.... you definitely will have to rejet for them though. They arent great for all types of riding. They are great for the dunes cuz the sand is course but for dry dusty areas I wouldnt recommend them. JMHO

clamp on style is deff better than any of the stock airbox set ups, specially warriors crappy design that doesnt even connect to the intake tube. its also highly reccomended u run a clamp-on with an outerwear if you plan on running without an airbox lid, and if so u will obviously have to rejet. its all preferance to whether K&N or foam is better, most people i know use K&N for sand use and foam for very dirty conditions, me i believe a good clean, sealed up K&N and an outerwear is good for almost anything.

I am putting a Mikuni 38mm on it. I can't figure a good way to hook up the stock air box, which is flawed in design to begin with. So I am either going to have to run a hose into the airbox, for a straighter run, and put the clamp on in the airbox with the lid off, or hook the clamp on directly to the carb. I will of course run outerwears either way. I also have a FMF powerbomb header and powercore IV exhaust. I think putting it in the airbox might be better, but a direct hook up to the carb would be a much easier and cleaner looking. It is dusty where I am at, so that is my concern especially hooking directly to the carb. Of course, I think it would be fine, with proper upkeep and cleaning maybe?
