Default oil in my airbox

I took the airbox cover off of my 2003 Kodiak 400 4x4 and saw there was oil in the airbox. Wanted to know what the cause of this was? Also when ever I run the atv and stop fuel leaks out of the hose on the bottom of the carb. Is the float valve stuck? Do I need to take the carb off and clean it out? any info would be great. Thanks

Never mind on the oil. I didn't know they put oil on the air filter. I took the carb off this morning and I am going to soak tonight and put it back on so hopefully it clears up my problem.

Yea my warrior had the same problem with it leaking gas. I'm pretty sure the float is stuck on it. By since mine is really old the gas valve can't be shut off by hand you need pliers. If i shut the valve off its fine. The problem is its a pain the @ss to shut the valve off all the time. I just ordered a new gas valve so i'll try that too.

Well I put the carb back on and it still leaks gas. Now the fourwheeler almost cuts out when I give it more than 1/4 throttle. I gave up and took it to the dealer to have it fixed. I was about ready to drive the thing into the chesapeake bay and let it stay there.

Lol i here ya. My friends machine was doing that too. He would give it gas and it would go lke 5 mph even lke full throttle, and it sounded terrible. Do you think he may have a fouled spark or something.

Ok my main idle reed was sitting in the bottom of the bowl when that was happening to my warrior fixed that and mine only leaks gas when the quad is off and the gas is on so i think my float is going or the drain screw is shot on the bottom of the bowl but as long as i keep shuting the fuel every time its all good

hey if you have oil in the air filter then im guessing there is a stuck valve in the motor and its not closing prperly causing oil to go in to the breather thru the crank vent tube , if its warranty get it fixed if not you will need a motor soon depending on how hard you drive it of course
