In my reply earlier I said that I don't think there would be any advantage to getting a Honda 250 EX or Suzuki Z-250 over a Raptor 250. I still feel that way, and I don't think there is enough difference in size between the three ATVs to offset the significant difference in performance between them. You would out grow the Honda or Suzuki far faster than the Raptor, ... on a performance basis, before you would outgrow the Raptor on a size basis. Even an adult like myself can have fun on the Raptor, because at least it has good performance.

However, being as you are 15 years old, I personally would not recommend a 250cc ATV from any manufacturer. I think you are past the 250cc stage, or will be very soon. I would think a Honda 400 EX or a Suzuki Z400 would be an ideal next quad. And I think that you could find a used 400 EX for the same price as a new Raptor 250. I would not recommend the Raptor 350 though. The Raptor 350 is a Warrior 350 with new plastic on it, and is an old design ATV with an old design engine in it. Both the 400 EX and the Z400 are better than the Raptor 350.

im definately rady for a much bigger atv, but my parents are on the safe side and all that, so thats the only reason keeping me from getting alteast a 450cc. we were gonna buy a sportsman 800 but it had problems and i rode that all around and i was comfortable. if i do get a raptor it will probably be the 350.

the 250 is one of the most nimble and best handling little quads out there but there not really that fast, there a lil slower than the blaster, but there a blast to ride the handling and way it feels is so fun, but if i were you id look into a z400, 400ex or warrior/raptor350 z400 being the most expensive and the warriors would be the cheapest priced. the raptor 350 would be a pretty good choice, being 15 your prolly ready for a faster bike, weight isnt a prob since u ride a hawkeye but the power is what youll have to adjust too. if you buy a z400/400ex you will be very happy and if you buy a 350 youll be happy but not as happy...lol those are my 3 picks.

Since the original question was pertaining to the Raptor 250, I wanted to say that I have spent some time on the Raptor 250, and I would recommend it over any of the 250 - 300cc range quads out there.

I'm 5'10" and about 130lbs......I recently had the chance to race the Raptor 250 out at Glen Helen in the Quadcross Series - it was awesome!!! With just a full pipe system and intake, that little 250 can haul! I also forgot after about 1 lap that I was even on a smaller sized quad - it handled SO much like my YFZ 450 that I was completely surprised!!

The handling/suspension on the 250 is absolutely top of it's class - it's it's OWN class.....I've also ridden one with a built up motor, and it was NO slouch!!

If your parents want to keep you in a lighter quad and safe (good for them!! Wish more parents did that!), then the 250 is an excellent choice!! My .o2!
