Yesterday I was stuck in a pond and my front wheels were floating and only one of them was spinning.Now I thought both my fronts locked in since I haven't found a locker listed for mine.Do I have some thing broke or do I need to search harder for a locker.It is a 2005 Big Bear 400

 

you might have an electrol problm because the diff locker for that atv is a swich nex to the 4x4 swich

 

There aren't lockers available for every quad. Prior to 2007 Big Bears did not have the option to lock the front end. When you get stuck with 2006 and earlier Big Bears only one wheel will spin. The front differential is set up that way to make steering easier in 4 wheel drive. Its essentially only a 3 wheel drive unles you have a differential lock.

 

On a big bear if you lightly hold the front brake it will act to aply brake to wheel that is spinning and will spin both theres a special name that yamaha uses for it but cant think of it right now.

 

both of my front wheels turn on my 99 big bear.

 

only if they both equally don't have traction. but if one has more traction than the other only one will spin it doesnt have diff lock.
