My wife told me I can have one more toy. Now for the dilema. I can either buy a Raptor and put a couple grand of mods into it OR I can trick out the 440 I already have BIG TIME. What would you guys do?

Put the 2 grand in the Raptor. It will already outrun the 440 and with 2k you could set up the Raptors suspension pretty good. I had a 400 that was actually a 440, and i sold it to get the Raptor.The Raptor feels like a 400 with a lot more power, and you can set up the suspension and it will be ahead of the 440 and you wont have to worry about the reliability of a stroker engine, not that the 440 is a bad kit but it is not going to be as reliable as stock deminsions

 

i;d get the raptor. you've already got the 440. so why not get something new!? plus raptors look freakin sweet! put some mods on it and it will be just as good as your 440.

 

I'd stick with that sweet 440 you have now, throw some more cash into it. Sure the raptor (w/ slight mods) may beat the 440 in a straight line, you will never be able to stay wiht a tricked 440ex anywhere else. Tight woods, corners, whoops...the 400ex just cant be beat. Just look at them stock vs stock, the raptor still isnt as good of a handler and in the tight woods the 400ex actully beat the raptor. The 400ex was alittle down on power ont he mx track, but like they said, just add a 440kit and it will take a pretty trick raptor to keep up to it. Just my opinion. Noone start a fight over my opinion.

i know you did not ask this but how about a 250r all tricked out. if you can spend 8,000 you could rebuild it all and it would be as good as any thing els for the money. just my opinion. but i would say get a raptor if i only had a choice of a tricked out 440ex or moded 660r. also you might want to wait and see if some new quads come out are.

 

Nice 440ex. It will take a lot of money to get a raptor as nice as your 440ex is right now. But you would have a brand new quad to play with.
