Well my dads friend has bought a 4 wheeler over the other day wanted me to look at it.....wasnt sure exactly what it was! It sais shaft driven on the side and YAMAHA so I did reasearch and Im assuming its a badger 80? I cleaned the carb it was all gummed up, it has a fresh battery, and spark plug and does have fire and compression but will not hit a lick..! Can someone help me with some tech support?

 

I am dealing with the same ATV & problem. Have you tried to push start it? Mine will go, but only iff you push it. I will watch your post to see if WE can get it resolved

 

check the valves we have a raptor 80 which i think whould be the same motor and it had the same problem the intake valve was tight so i adjusted it and it started right up.

 

i have one also when its cold its hard to start , i read something about the intake valve on the carb. i read to open it more and i would but i dont know what one it is

 

You'll need to buy the manual - Online they're cheap, downloadable ones. Available through Ebay. It's the valve timing that's off, typically.

 

Valves!! Thease are very finkey when it comes to valves.

i dont know the specs sorry. any yama tech shuld know it off the top of there head.

 

The loose side of the spec is .010 intake and .012 exh with the engine cold.
