Has anyone been there in January. How high is the river running? Sometimes there is just a little shallow standing water/mud that you can cross to get out to the wide open sand beach area near the river. Other times the river is too high.

I look forward to meeting y'all there. I'll be in a chestnut brown '01 Ford F-150 Supercrew 4x4 (w/ an angry blue Raptor in the back). I just remembered something that may be useful to those that haven't been to the Red River. The last time in went there (on my in-laws Prairie 4x4s) I got stuck in quicksand. It scared the sh*t out of me! I was cruising along and a friend behind me started yelling and I stopped because I couldn't understand him and it turned out he was yelling I'm in quicksand. I saw the whole sandbar behind me moving like jello. I looked down and the quad was sinking. I gave it gas and it went nowhere. I started climbing up to stand on the seat and it came to a rest about half way up the quad. I slowly stepped in the sand and it only went to my knees, so we were able to lift and pull the quad to the side a little at a time until we got to firmer sand. Anyway, be carful around the stuff, it's scary sh*t.

Scooby,
We went about 3 weeks ago and it was perfect, was able to cross the river in all sections and the long beach was accesible as well.

I have a couple of friends coming as well. We will be in a 2001 Ford F150 extended cab and parking near the sand berm track from the right of the gate. Going to be getting there around 7am-8am (long drive for us and I have to remember the way, lol).

Hope to see you all there!

My cam chain was too loose causing a rattling sound from the motor. I thought the valves were hitting the piston, so I left early. Got home, took the valve cover off again and found the problem with the cam chain tensioner. All fixed now. Out to Rocky Ridge on Sunday, since I didn't get any good riding in today at Muenster.

Sorry about your trouble. We were looking forward to seeing you ride. We will be doing another trip as soon as we can organize one. Rocky Ridge sounds good but not tomorrow for me. I have some body repairs to do.

Hi guys,
I'd like to meet up with y'all some time and go ride. This Sat. or Sun. would have been great.
good weather. Ihad to work this weekend. Me and a few of my friends ride 4 wheelers and bikes, and we are always looking for more riding buddies.I tried once before to leave messages on the above website but was unsuccessful. Something about Windows Outlook that I have problems with on my computer at home.???????
Anyway I will try to post from my PC at work.
Hope to hook up with some of you soon, and do some riding.
