Looking for some aftermarket wheels for Raptor
#1
What do you suggest? I'm looking to dress up my Raptor with some better looking wheels, but I don't want anything that is weaker. I'll probably be going with some Holeshots also, so if you know where to get a good combo price, let me in on it. Oh...riding area makes a difference, so figure on cross country type terrain.
thanks!

I was thinking about getting a set of those new HiPer carbon fiber wheels (with Maxxis Razr tires), but after e-mailing back and forth with HiPer Technologies, I am no longer sure that they are worth it. First of all, it is an unproven product. Secondly, they raised there prices $15 per rim, which no longer makes them price competetive with aluminum beadlocks ($185 vs. $160~$170). Thirdly, even being an mech. engineer, I am leary of using carbon fiber in this enviroment. I was about to order a set until I realized that the outer beadlock ring was carbon fiber (I had thought that it was aluminum).
Bash, you should look at a James Lucky catalog, they have a good selection of rims (reinforcing rings, beadlocks, combinations of the two, and the Douglas ultimate wheels).
Personally, I will probably get reinforcing rings for my front rims and beadlocks for the rears.
Anyone have any experiences where beadlocks have save your front tires from coming off? (sport quad use, that is)

bash,
I have the Holeshots, and I like them a lot. I think you should listen to the Mech. Eng., Carbon Fiber is STILL a fiber and therefore, prone to delaminating or shredding (that's what I've heard about pipes, as well). Anyway, I've got ITP .190s, but if I had it to do all over again, the Douglas Billets would be my choice.
