i am getting one near me for about $1800 is the atv good for a beginner? i would ride it at my cabin, (dirt, sand, grass) no jumps or anything, just riding around fast.
i am 13, and smaller then mopst teenagers. would it be a good size?

You first need to figure out what machine you are thinking of getting. Honda and Big Bear do not go together. A big bear is a yamaha. Honda would be a recon for utility and 250ex for sport. If it is older it could be a 250x. Check it out and get back to us.

A 2007 for $1800 sounds like a steal. Just check it over real well to make sure it hasn't been totalled and pieced back together. Check the frame for any paint chipping off or possibly re-painted(drips running down the frame or rough feeling overspray). Also check the oil AFTER you have ran it to make sure there is no metal particles floating around. If it runs and looks good snag it.
The 250 will be perfect for you. I got my 14 year old an older 200 honda and she's gotten pretty brave on it already. Anything more might be a bit dangerous for a first time rider.
