A-Arms swapping
#1
I bought a set of lower a-arms off eBay. They came off of a '01 Banshee. I have two questions about them. Will they fit a '92 Warrior & are the ball joints replaceable? The rubber boots are torn & one joint is really worn. I'm discussing it with the seller and he says they are replaceable. I've taking the rubber boots off and the aluminum appears to be casted around the joint stud itself. Can anyone give me any help here? He's found ball joints on eBay and has told me they are the replacements. The problem is that I'm very familiar with automobiles and these are not the replacements. And I don't see anyway possible of disassembling them.

They won't fit the Warrior. The main thing is they are shorter, but I don't think they will bolt up at all without some heavy modifications. I looked at every a-arm I could when I replaced mine on my Warrior, and could not find any other quads arms to fit. Banshee, Raptor 660, etc.
Most Yamaha ball joints are not replaceable - you have to replace the whole a-arm. I think the guy on Ebay is just trying to sell something. The only older sport ATV Yamahas made with the replaceable ball joints that I know of were the '87-89 Warrior, and these arms will not fit the '90-up Warriors - that sucks!

I bought the ASR +2" for mine. They were cheaper than the factory arms, but I had to replace the shocks with Works shocks, but I needed new shocks anyway. The ASR (American Star Racing) worked great, but I got the heavy duty heim joints instead of the ball joints, and the heim joints suck. They got real tight when they got mud and dirt in them. I would oil them before every ride and they would loosen up until about halfway through the ride. Then they would get tight and it was hard to turn the wheels.
