That depends on what you want the tire to do. Go to treadepot.com , they have some excellent prices on tires.

i want a tire that won't get a hole in it if you run over a thorn or something like that. preferably 3 or 4 ply thick. i do not however want to lose any speed.

FKNA,

Did you lose any power going to the 26" Mudrunners. I am looking to put a lift kit and bigger tires on my 2001 Kodiak. Thanks in advance for your information.

Titan 589 are a great all around choice, very aggresive and have sturdy sidewalls.a few friends of mine have the 27" and the kd moves them ,but they do think the 26" would have been a better choice....good luck

NINman,

Yes, I did lose some power. Not off of the top end, but off the bottom end. Before putting on the tires I NEVER used low gear in any type of mud situation. But with the bigger tires if I get in too deep, I gotta go to low. I plan on putting in a clutch kit to correct that problem.

I've been running Titan 589's since September in 25X10X12 and they're awesome. I was delighted at their performance pushing a 5' plow this winter, much better than the Blackwaters on my last machine. But you better hang on cause they really grab.

I've got 26x10x12 Mud Bugs. Don't buy clutch kit, for the price the difference is hardly noticeable. Mud Bugs clean well and don't suffer on hard pack. $350 installed.
