I have a 04 raptor with a 686 kit, full pipe and K&N filter.I have had it about 3 weeks it has ran great carberation seamed perfect. Then I cleaned the filter It was really dirty(probablly unrelated) the next day I started it up. It idals fine but as soon as you touch the throtle it just it pops and back fires and does not rev up. It will not warm up past this stage. The jets looked Ok starter fluid sprayed around outside of carb and boots had no effect new plug. Any thoughts thanks

Parking brake sensor. You could bypass it or jiggle the parking brake lever mechanism on the clutch lever perch, that may get it going for a while.

When the parking brake is 'on' the rev limiter is enabled. The sensors that tell the engine that the parking brake is on are junk. Most of the time the parking brake is off, but the sensors go bad and still enable the rev limiter. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the parking brake assembly and get a parking brake block-off plate. Who needs a parking brake on an ATV anyway?

Also make sure the reverse switch is not half-way engaged.

do you know if you can disable the parking break sensor by unpluging it or jumping across it?

i think you should be able to unplug it and then plug it into or itself and just let it hand down.
