Well i have a 2005 yamaha grizzly 660 4x4 and when i am rideing i can not tell how much gas is in it and body got and ideas or where can i buy some thing to tell how much gas i have in it and maybe the time.

Wouldnt a 2005 grizzly have an electric dash with everything on it? If not fill the gas tank completely full then run untill its empty.And hopefully you have a trip odometer on it, after then trip check the odometer. Then say it had 130km on one tank of gas on every trip from then on u will have a vague idea on how much gas is left in the tank.

Always fill up before you ride, and then you will get a feel of how long you can ride before another fill-up. If you run out, flip the gas valve to the reserve and that will give you about 15 minutes of riding to make it to the gas pump before it runs out completely. You can also take the gas tank top off and look in to see how much you got, but it will take some experience to look in and tell how much gas is in there. Most ATV's will ride for at least 4 hours between fill ups, but it depends on how you ride, too. Slow rides will probably let you ride all day on 1 tank, where fast rides with the throttle wide open will only give you 3-4 hours.

 

I think only the new 550's and the 700's have the digital tank reader where you can see how much gas is in your tank. I guess the only way to tell is to look and if you run out you can always use your reserve to get back to where you have to go to fill up.

Ok i found the section in dirtwheels magazine where they added one of these to a suzuki ltr 450 to make it more trail ready. It is a digital dash made by trail tech. The one they used displays mph,rpm,engine temp, hours, a clock,odometer, trip meters and shift lights.
