I think i need to take the sidecase off of my powerband and clean it. I've heard of people saying they were going to their dealers and buy a powerband for their 4 strokes.

 

Went to the local yamaha dealer aka. goon today, bought a gallon of injector oil and 2 quarts of 10w30 yamalube, so I put it on the counter and he rings it up.. as he's ringing it up
he says (pointing at the 10w30) "Ya know thats for 4-strokes, you arent going to use it in a 2-stroke?"
I said "uhh... well... uhh..."
he says "its made for 4 strokes not 2 strokes"
I said "uhh... ummmm... Im pretty sure its for 2-strokes also, it says so on the back" then proceeded to read the back to him, something like "SAE approved for all 4 stroke engines and 2-stroke wet clutch and transmissions"
Anyways the moral of the story is he's a goon, I wonder if people go there to get oil to change the oil in the tranny if he asks if its a 2-stroke and gives them injector oil???
But your local yamaha dealer being a goon can be a good thing, he forgot to charge for one of the quarts

 

That's a lot like the time i was helping my cousin's boyfriend change the muffler on his car. My dad and i told him the muffler bearings were shot and he actually went into Auto Zone and asked for muffler bearings!

 

my couson got into an arguement with a guy he works with about 2 strokes.the guy to him it was impossible for an engine to run without valves,cam and timing chain.it got started when this other guy asked about advise on way his 2 stroke wouldnt run and the guy said it may have jumped time for him to check and see if the timing chain may have broke.then when he said it didnt have a timing chain or valves the guy said that HE was stupid.what a joke.

The first...I can't really tell about it...it's all on the fly...but there are some special moments. This guy has done a 13 (or so) months intensive mechanical school, and asks:
-Does this Montana have a turbo?mmmmh...don't even need to look under the hood to figure this one. Oh well...not a big mistake though.
-my favourite : this the had, right? He was showing the cylinders. mmmmh...did you really learn something?
-He is convinced the Yamaha SRX (snowmobile)is the ultimate trail speed machine. mmmmh (again). He wants to get one, and the last time he rode my 440 MXZx, he destroyed the whole left side after 2 curves.
-He's gonna double the horsepower of his 400YZF...ahahahahahahahahah.

The other guy thinks he can make his scrambler as fast as my shee...and (can you get more crazy?) has done a list of how much his mods have costed him.
