Default '96 Wolverine pull start kit?

I just purchased a 1996 350 4X4 Wolverine and found it does not have a back for the electric starter. Is there a kit i could buy to put a kick or pull starter on it?

So is there not a kit to convert it? Am i **** out of luck if the battery goes dead? This scares me beacause i bought this machine primarily for my wife. She has zero experience on atv's and would not know how or have the strength to push start it.

That is the kit. Buy that, pull the side cover on the motor and replace it with that one I just gave you. You might have to buy the keyed sprocket to bolt onto the crank too but I'm not positive. That pull start is pretty much identical on most these Yamaha ATV's so maybe a bone yard is a viable option.

I think i am S.O.L. I do not have side cover on my motor. I have seen the recoil kit you are talking about, but mine just has two case halves. No removable plate on the right side of the engine. Thanks for your help. Please post if anyone else has any ideas. Thanks.

Ah yeah I see what you mean now. I didn't realize that yours didn't even have the provisions for the pull start to bolt to the side of the case. You would need to change the whole side cover out. You might try the cycle salvages or evil bay. The side covers on 97-up big bears, and 00-up wolverines are the ones you would be looking for.
PM Leed1315 over on highlifters forum. He has a 98' big bear that he is parting out. I bought some stuff from him before. Gave me a killer deal and sent it super quick. He might be able to help you out.

Thanks for the quick post! I will check for those models to see if i can find one fairly cheap. It might be better than the alternative, buying an extra starter and battery to haul around with me. Pricey! Thanks Jeff!
