Default Timberwolf electrical problems

92 Timberwolf 2wd 250. I am on my third starter!!! For some reason when I start the atv up and let off the start button, the starter keeps on running. I have changed the solenoid and the cut off relay. I have no idea what is going on!! And when it is trying to start it is making a bad friction sound. I really need help with this, where to look and a starting point. This is my first 4 wheeler and I am really wanting to ride it. Any help would be appreciated

you may have a short somewhere causing a ground which keeps the starter moving you may want to check for any cracked or broken wires that might be grounding
