Wolverine?

I can't decide what atv to buy. It will be my first New one so a lot of thought is going into it. I love speed, jumps, wheelies, trail riding and sporty quad handling however, I live on a farm and need a quad thats useful for dragging stuff around and such. I think the Wolverine will work pretty well for my needs but I'm not sure. Is it geared low enough for general farm use? I have 5,000$ to spend and it has to be 4x4 so what do you guys think? thanks

I plow snow with my wolverine and it does a great job. I usually use 2nd gear so I would say it is geared low enough for what you need.
I'm a big guy, and I can hang with the 400 and 500's I ride with, all but the straight full throttle runs. I am very pleased with my wolverine, and I don't think you would be disappointed if you got one.
Some mods to think about if you are going to use it for a lot of work. It's oil cooler is pretty small and you might want to add a larger one for low speed work. And the K&N jet kit and filter was a god send, it improved start up and throttle response greatly.
good luck on what ever you get.

I have a 96 Woverine, and I use it on our farm. I have a small trailer that I built that I use behind it when I need to lug bigger stuff around. For the most part it works really good. I had thought about a scrambler, but I needed racks and a trailer hitch (I know you can get them for a scrambler, but their kind of cheesey). I also plow alittle snow with it with no problems. The biggest thing to remember is that it will do everthing that the bigger utilties will, just not as much at a time.

I have a 98 wolv and use it for pulling gang mowers in the summer, I have a small dump trailer that I drag firewood out of my woods with, it carries 4-5 deer out during hunting season and I even find time to take it riding with the guys--it does a real good job as a matter of fact I end up leading most of the time with the dust eating herdtrying to keep up....

I have had mine for a year without a problem.I got it new for 5800.oo,probably too much.I use it for hunting, fishing, and bustin loose on the trails.I have been riding with alot of different quads, and i never get left behind.Worth every penny! My bro got a trail boss and has nothing but problems out of it,hes wishin he spent the extra money and got a real sport utility quad.

That,s what the Wolverine was made for ,the people who can not make up there minds between a sport or utility quad. The Xplorer is another one with a top end of 60mph, low range for work and long travel suspension but I wish it was not chain drive on the back though.I also find the 400 Kodiak is a sporty utility with it,s selectable 4wd option but with a top end of only a little over 50 the Wolverine would be more exciting.

Hey man, I'm going to be posting a site pretty soon and just ordered a new fuji finepix 4900 ZOOM that can take 3 min. video clips. We will be posting pics and video clips of us going on trips and going through all kinds of stuff. We will probably make video clips of cool things like drag races and stuff so we can back up what we say. People will see for themselves..
It's going to be pretty fun and a great hobby..
later.
PS. Wolverines are really a cool atv and theres lots of mods for them which make them really versatile. You can make them really sporty or more utility. You can even have a mix of both..
