I have a 1996 Yamaha Kodiak I cannot get any spark.I know there is a test to tell wether the CDI is bad but I cannot find any information on how to test the CDI.
I removed the battery cables and hooked a volt meter to the wires when I pull start it I am getting voltage through the battery cable so I assume the stator is good.I am not getting any voltage through the orange wire that goes from the
CDI the the ignition coil though.I am assumeing that the CDI is bad,any thoughts or suggestions would be most appeciated.

 

Hello there is a simple way to test the CDI unit ;but it consist of you finding another atv the same as your;s and try your,s in there bike good luck.
