Default raptor not starting

i just bought a raptor 660 and the guy said he couldnt get it to start. i thought it was the solenoid because it was clicking really fast when you hit the start button. my friend had a spare one so we put it on and the same thing. we put some jumper cables on it and it took it a while but we finally got it started. i was wandering if it was the battery but it is fully charged(i took it to oreillys). what would cause it to crank slow and buzz. sometimes it will crank hard enough to start and sometimes it wont. could it be the starter itself?

Check the cranking amps on the battery just to be sure. I had to replace my battery. It showed 12+ volts on the meter and my charger showed it to be charged, but it had zero cranking amps when tested at the shop.

im still kinda wandering if its my solenoid. the guy i got the raptor from said it was a new battery but who knows. i tested it and shows 12.8 volts but when i crank it its only like 7 volts. and if i try to jump start it the positive batt. cable going to the solonoid will smoke a little.do you think it might be a battery. now the solonoid wont just crank over when i short it with a screwdriver like it did at first.

also i forgot to say that it cranks alot easier with the choke off rather than on. if its on it wont hardly crank when i have jumper cables hooked to it. maybe starter?also when i hit the start button the n/r/temp lights are really dim

seems like it could be a real poor connection or maybe something has corrosion somewhere, all the cables that leave and go to the solenoid take them out and see if theres white or green crap on the ends, if so i usually just cut the bad end off if i have enough cable, i usually use wd-40 to clean the connections then use dialectric grease when i fasten the stuff back together.
