Raptor Cooling Fan
#1
My raptor's fan use to come on a lot when I started riding it 6 months ago, now it never comes on. The only differences I see are: it was 100 degrees 6 months ago, now only 60 and I am new at riding and wasn't traveling as fast so less air was getting to the radiator. How often does your fan turn on?

There is alot more heat generated during the break in period. Thats why its important to take it easy until the friction(heat) polishes the surfaces of the cylinder and moving parts. after breakin the bike will run cooler. But since there are not large fins on the head to cool the engine, The fan kicks on to cool the radiator when driving at a slow pace. If I leave It or my Old polaris Idling even in freezing weather they will still kick the fan on to cool the radiator. Just pay attention if it ever is staying on or if it is Not ever coming on. That would be a problem.

Big Gun ORIGINALLY recommended the 150/155 setup while not doing ANY airbox modifications. After speaking with them they said they are starting to believe this may be a little on the lean side and it is really lean if you open the airbox at all. They suggested I try 160/165 w/ 27.5s and that has worked perfect as long as the airbox is modified.
