Anything but the FMF.The FMF headpipe is almost identical to the stock one.FMF has never been a serious pipe anyhow, Go with something Like the CT, Greydon, or Big Gun.I have not heard anyone say anything bad about the Big Gun, The CT and Greydon stick out past the grab bar, so if you stand your quad up to far it will wreck the silencer, besides, the CT, Greyson, and White brothers are all disc systems, which are proven to make less power than a straight through silencer.

I put a hmf engineering full exhaust and a dyno-jet jet kit on mine, made all the difference in the world. It pulls harder from the bottom to the top.You can go too hmfengineering.com and look at the dyno chart. I went with this set-up because dyno-jet used hmf's pipe to develop their jet kit.The pipe is made in ohio and retails for 369.00 for the complete exhaust.

all I can say is "If your not packing a BIG GUN, leave it on the trailer" Make sure you get the dynojet jet kit though

What jetting are you running with the Big gun(#1,234,234)? I can't seem to dial mine in. I am currently running full exhaust,pro-flow(snorkel off), sparks ign advance with 165/170 mains and it is still running lean and "coughing" at higher RPMs. I want to run with the airbox lid off.Any pointers?

Madmike101,

Ditto to what Chasman said. Go with the Big Gun. If I had it to do over again, I would do the same thing. Not only do you get a great system, but also great customer service. If it was good enough for the Baja 2000, it should be good enough for you. I've had nothing but compliments on mine. You're jetting should be around 160/165 and 27.5s with the air box modified. If you don't modify the box, it will be too rich - at least in the Dallas area. You can see what the system looks and sounds like at my web site (you'll need QuickTime).

Good Luck!

ERICsRAPTOR,

Are you sure it is running lean and not rich? Did you look at the plug? You can experience the same symptoms with both conditions. I am running 160/165 and 27.5s with BIG holes in the air box and it runs perfect, but is still on the rich side (I would rather it be a little rich than a little lean). Maybe your ignition advance is adding an extra variable that I'm not familiar with?

Go with TC Tom Carlson and you wont have any jetting problems at all and Tom is a perfectionist so your carb is set perfect. Dont be fooled with all the mags the raptor has the CC's you just have to make them work the power curve of the raptor is around 600rpm and it needs to be dropped down to 2000-3000rpm range which Tom does and the quad really comes to life dont waist your money on a headpipe unless your going for looks.

Eric, Talk to dseater (Terry) his quad is jetted perfect also and he is running a full yosh with prodesign and no snorkel plus holes in lid. You have to be carefull the raptor will run with any jets in the carb but you wont believe the differance once you get it perfect ask dseater and I wouldnt run with no Lid just put holes in it for Pa leave the lid on your not going to gain much with the lid off nothing noticable. What happened on SAT! Let me know and e-mail dseater or go to his web sight geocities.com/raptorterry and leave him a message on his board.

Mike I went with a big gun header with a white bros silencer but the whole biggun system is easy to throw on. I have white bros air filter and jetted at 160/165 mains with 27.5 pilot jetts the needles are set at the 1 setting from the last (raising the needle almost all the way) the mixture screws are (lh) 1 turn out and 1 1/2 turns out on the rh. It works great.
hope this helps
