Yamaha Warrior 350

Another pro as well, parts are extremely easy to find and the Warrior is a pretty easy to maintain machine.

just my $0.02, but i have an 87 warrior and its not horrible...but it doesnt feel as up to date as other quads. it rides soso, and steering is eh. but its easy enough to fix anything on them, and parts are easy/cheap. its not a bad quad if you can find one for cheap, but i wouldt go buying a new one(raptor350). my 300ex is alot lighter and quicker, and feels better, to me that is. power wise they only produce 21hp stock, which for there weight(400lbs-i weighed it on a grain scale) is low. while a 400 today produces 29-31hp stock and are around 400lbs as well.

I have an '88. Its my first quad. The gentleman I bought if from bought it for his son - who hardly touched it. Its in excellent shape to be 21 years old. On the trails everyone stares b/c it looks old, but yet looks so new and runs so good. I actually get a lot of compliments on it.
I must say I am extremely impressed with it. It runs like a top and so far, I have had zero problems with it. I have upgraded it with Raptor wheels & tires, HMF exhaust, and am about to rejet the carb to match the HMF. All in all, its a great all around quad. I ride muddy trails and it handles them like a champ. The only con I can say about mine has already been said - it handles like a tank sometimes and if flat out top end speed is your thing - the warrior is not for you. My buddy has a '03 Raptor 660r that has all the goodies and is just one nasty quad! I can hang with him on the trails pretty repectable, but on the straight aways - I don't have a prayer racing him.
Bottom line - I would recommend a warrior to anyone, except those who really want a 'racing' quad or those who do 'extreme' trail riding where a superior suspension is a must.
Edit - Forgot the seat thing. Its funny when my buddy and I switch quads. Sitting on his newer raptor feels strange. The seat is so much higher. Then he gets on mine and always says "damn, this is a low rider quad!" I always think thats funny

Warriors are just that, warriors. They are tough as hell and nearly bulletproof. In stock form they will not hang with the more refined 400's and certainly not the 450's but for the money I think they are great quads. I had an 02 that was stock and while riding a hare scramble track with 3 young guys on piped and jetted Honda 400EX's, I was able to drive up their butts on the trails, but on the straits that were 50 yards or better long they could take me. For the money and what they offer, durability and REVERSE they are probably the best quad out there for a first quad and until you hone your skills. I liked mine because it was not so prone to wheelies and they are really good hill climbers.
