Grizzly 550 Oil filter

Thanks,
Yes it is a spin on type. The local dealer wants $20 a pop for them. I also ride a Honda GL1800 and found a Fram filter to fit this machine for quarter of the price of the Honda labeled type. Funny thing is, Fram is contracted by Honda to make these filters but Honda wants and arm and leg for them.

I used to get my oil and filter from a auto store, but was surprised to find out my dealer was selling the oil and filter kit cheaper than I could by it separately at a department store now.
$30 Canadian for 2 quarts of synthetic oil with spin on oil filter.
My friend bought a spark plug at a Honda dealership it came in a red box with the "Honda" logo printed on it, he opens it up and out comes a NGK BR8ES plug you can get anywhere for half the price.LOL

Fram makes one and they are available at our local farm & home stores. I bought 2 Tusk filters from Rocky Mtn ATV and paid $6 each, then paid $7 or 8 bucks for shipping. I can't remember the number for the Fram filter, but they have it and AutoZone will order it for you. They are much cheaper than the Yamaha filters and are just as good IMO. My dealer wanted $17 for the filter and I said Hell No. That is a ripoff. I would imagine that the filter is the same as the one for my 700 Griz and my 450 Griz. I had a hell of a time getting the factory filter off. Wound up being able to get a 12" pipe wrench on it and could turn it about a 1/4" per stroke but after turning it nearly a full turn I was able to spin it off. I am running Valvoline ATV oil that I purchased at AutoZone for 3.99 per quart, which is much better than the $10 per quart they wanted for Yamalube. I have been running Valvoline for over 30 years and have never had an oil related problem.
