Default 05, 660R Not Starting

We just had the boys bike rebuilt, picked it up from the shop, drove it off the trailer at the house, it died and now won't restart.

When the key is on, the neutral light or headlights don't come on. I know what you're thinking, loose ground or loose battery cable. I can only find one ground and its on the crank case after the battery and the cables are tight.

I hooked up the battery charger and bingo, we have a light and headlights. When I push the starter switch, the soleniod buzzes. I figure maybe the battery is just dead. I let it charge overnight, 12v 2 amp, and nothing. Same problem. I bumped up the charger to 12v, 55 amp and still only get a buzz from the starter solenoid. I also tried to jump the solenoid by bridging the + and - posts and just got a hum from the starter.

Any Ideas?

Charge the battery and check for a short in the starting system. It may be possible the starter solenoid is stuck or the starter itself has a short to ground. Connect your 55ampcharger directly to the starter and determine of the starter will crank the engine.

I have a similar problem. Does any of the lights blink where the key goes in?? Mine does, and Im not sure what that means.

I don't get any blinking lights when I insert the key. If that is what you are getting, I'm guessing that you have a bad connection in your key'd ignition.... Try jumping the wires on the underside of the switch.

I still don't have a solution for my 660r not starting.... anyone else?
