Default Installing a drive belt for a 660 YAMAHA.???

I have a 2005 YAMAHA 660 and I'm having a hard time putting the drive belt back on. Any assistance would be helpful.

WHAT~ ~~~~!! mmm ya... I highly doubt that! Very highly doubt that!

I don't own an 05 Grizz 660. But I know that on all the snowmobiles I have owned and my 07 Grizz 450 that I do not have to remove a pulley to install a drive belt!

Attached is a picture showing instructions (from shop manual) on how to do it on my 07 Grizz 450

Just take a piece of 2 x 4 and cut 2 wedges out of it. Hammer one in the secondary sheeve and the belt will drop, this will give you enough slack to remove the belt. Pull the belt partially off and in that area of the sheeve, hammer the second wedge into the sheeve. Then remove the first wedge so you can get the rest of the belt off. Put the new belt on. You will have to turn the sheeve a little to get the wedge out of the way and then remove the wedge. Wah Lah! belt is now on.

Mmm... Yea... NOT! Sorry Cell tech but by the time you are done wacking away on your 2x4 piece of wood, I would have already installed the two bolts into the secondary to seperate the sheaves and had the belt replaced...

No need to hack job the process when you have the correct / simple process listed right here on this site!

I understand totally because I have the manual that shows the same diagram. But when the factory installs the secondary sheeve backwards so you don't have access to the bolts, what else are you suppose to do? Hey it worked, and took me 25min.
