lte is a pretty good choice for exhaust. not only do duals look great on the raptor make the most power they give that great deep sound. the exhausts to look at are monster duals, barker duals, dmc force 4 duals (not afterburner) and the ltes. pair that with a power commander 3 and a fci intake system and you will see a nice 10+ hp gain (around 50hp).

Well I changed the plug. I decided to go all out and put an iridium plug in in it (the 450 uses one.. why not splurge). I was riding it around it punched the throttle to my surpise.. I hit a bog. It just went "blehhhhh". I'm worried this will continue if I dump hard earned money into the pc3, exhaust, and intake. I gotta look for another rappy 700 to ride see if mine is defective. Starting to dislike the 700.

A well tuned bike that has good throttle response is such a pleasure to ride.

It definitely should not do that. Was it warmed up? It will fall on it's face if it's still cold. The only 700 I've rode had a pc3 LRD with stock filter. It had great throttle response and power to spare. The PC3 will readjust the fuel mixture and should by all accounts help the tuning.

You may, before dumping money in an exhaust if your thinking about getting rid of it, just go with a better filter (Yamahas is crap) try it out then go with the pc3 and knock the plug out of the exhaust if it has one (i'm not sure) to see how it acts. If it improves, i suspect it will, then get the exhaust.

I have a UNI air filter in it now (as in my 450R). There is like a drain plug in the exhaust I will look into that. I let it run for a few minutes, then I punched it (like 2). If I get home early this week and no rain I will try to do this after work. Will update.

Well how does the power and throttle response compare to the DS you have?

My current DS build is not complete (in fact having a problem with that and hopefully someone can respond). However my first real ride with the Raptor 700 I took it to some trails and a buddy of mine brough his DS650. My Raptor is Stock (with the exception of the uni air filter) and my buddys DS has a air filter, cdi, and big gun exhaust. His DS defintely has more power. Raptor is easier to wheelie, but we were crossing a log and I did with both bikes and the DS just had more lazy man power to spare. Even that first day on the trail with he Raptor it felt lazy.

I am going to do the exhaust purge and hope that does something. I looked at the old plug and the ceramic area was tannish but the threads were jet wet black. I guess that is normal?

My previous DS build was a Ron Wood Racing Stage III coupled with a Lectron HV46 carb. When it did ran (I broke a valve caused a lot of damage while drag racing) it ran like a champ. The prior year before when I took it to Silver Lake Michigan it ran very strong and I couldn't be happier. I'm starting to think EFI is overrated. There is defintely a small bit of hesitation when you want to mash the throttle.
