Is it low range? If not did the belt get wet or is it due for a change.

the belt didnt get wet, and it only has 500 miles on it. The indicator says it is in high range... I was thinking there might be a sensor that might be shorting out, keeping the ATV from going in to high gear but it telling the indicator it is in high range. Cause that exactly what it feels like... It feels like it is in LOW RANGE but the High range light is on.

You could check by disconnecting the rod beween shifter and tranny lever and manually force the tranny lever into high range to see if thats the problem.

Were you stuck in mud/water? it is possible your clutch got full of crud, and now it won't shift up and allow the belt to ride up the sheave and give the higher gear ratio that lets you get to top speed, like it is stuck in low gear. Pull the belt cover and see if the clutches look all dirty and mucked up, could be time for a clean up and more "Grizzly Grease"

Then it looks like TLC and IQ are the guys to talk to , see if their recommendations of checking your shift linkage works out, if it comes a little loose, it could keep you from getting the trans into hi range, and make you rev out and keep lower speeds.

If you put it into low is there any difference? Try going from high to low and back. Maybe it will fix itself. Thats what I always hope for when theres a problem.
