EFI for a 2009 Raptor 700R
#1
I recently purchased a new Raptor 700R. Some of the first things i did to it was put on ITP HD's, K&N filter, GYTR Slip-on and bought a cheap Fuel Processor.
Well you get what you pay for and the processor burned out after a few time of getting wet (supposed to be waterproof). Anyways im wanting to buy a new EFI controller, but dont know which one to go with. Terry Components makes one that adjusts automatically while you ride. The downfall is the this thing is almost $500. Is it really worth it? If not then which one is with all the aftermarket parts that i have? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
(i got an email from yamaha engineering stating that i really dont need one, which the guy has got to be completly wrong because when i run the bike with out one it is burning very lean. Runs like a raped ape... but wont for long.)
Please help!!

power commanders are the best efi controllers bar none. very easy to d/l maps. all u do is plug the unit into a comp with a usb cable and d/l a map. the power commander 5 has a option for a autotune so it will make maps its self. of course this is not as good as takingh your bike to a dyno but from what i hear works well. i use the power commander 3 myself and love it. there are tons of maps on the internet u can get for free also. http://www.fuelmotousa.com/power_commander.htm has the best prices on the power commanders

+1 on the power commander. If your not going to be doing a bunch of motor work don't bother with the PC5, there are plenty of good maps on the raptor boards and power commander website to load. The only difference with the PC5 and PCIII is the auto tune feature and you have to purchase the auto tune seperatly and have an O2 bung welded in the exhaust, all of it will cost you close to $600 by the time your done. Check out www.moddedraptor.com and www.raptorforum.com, you can usually find pretty good deals on a used PCIII in the classified section.
