Question Wolverine sputtering

I have a mostly stock 00 wolverine that has me stumped. I have read a lot of posts on here about brake switches and CDI probs but none of the most obvious fixes help me. It will start and idle fine, even rev up to full throttle in Neutral. As soon as I put it in 1st or Reverse it seems like it gets no gas. When I get on the throttle it just sputters and coughs.

I'll be honest here, I don't know much about the diaphragm carb on this bike. I know enough to clean it, but thats about it. I have had 2 banshee's and a blaster back in the day, and those carbs were a piece of cake to work on compared to this. This is my first four stroke (I'm 32, been riding for 20+ years) and I am in unfamiliar territory here. I have a manual, and can wrench about anything, I am just baffled. I have cleaned the carb, air filter, checked the parking brake switch, the neutral safety switch and the CDI. Please help!! Thanks in advance!

I don't know about that bike or carb , but have you checked the hoses for leaks because if its a diaphram and your vacuum lines air allow air to enter it could be the problem, i know that happens on motorcycles.

Sounds like the parking brake is on, check that first cause thats exactly what happens when its engaged. Ive heard that the switch goes sometimes, there is a way to bypass it but I am not sure how to do it.
