hmf pipe for wolverine?
Ok well as my name says, i have a 05 wolverine 350. I am wanting to make a few more hp. And the first thing that popped into my mind was a pipe. I have heard that the hmf slip-ons increase your hp by about 7-10hp. Is this true? For all of you that have the older wolverines, did you see a power difference? Did you also see an increase of your top speed? If so how my mph faster is it? I am thinking about getting one, but don`t want to waste my $$$ on it and it not increasing anything. If i do end up getting it, i will get it off of ebay.
Thanks in advance

You won't see 7 to 10 HP out of a pipe on a Wolverine, that would be about a 50% increase in power over stock. Additionally a pipe won't increase top speed. Top speed is determined by gear ratio, tire size and the rev limit of the engine. I don't have an HMF pipe on my Wolverine so I don't know exactly what kind of increase in power it will make. I do however have an FMF Megamax pipe on my Wolverine and I did notice an increase in low and midrange power.

To get a little more performance out of the pipe it would be advisable to open up the intake as well. I added an EHS Racing Air Box lid which has an Outerwears prefilter that is water-resistant to keep water out of the air box while allowing more air in. You can see more info at EHS Racing Warrior Custom Airbox Cover Air Box Lid. While dealing with the intake it is a good idea to replace the filter and upgrade how it mounts in the air box. There are two good air filter adapters, either the Prodesign or Noss Machine Adapter. Either one is available with a foam filter or K&N, I personally use and prefer a foam air filter. Note the EHS air box lid requires rejetting the carb due to the additional air flow.
