Default 2009 IRS 350 grizzly for her

This weekend we are going to buy a new IRS Grizzly. I am buying out of state so I dont have to pay taxes. I can get it for $5100 out the door. Is this a good price? Also how is the ride as I run a sport quad. My wife wants something that is fully automatic and not to big. I figure the IRS has got to be better then the solid axle.

What cheap mods can I do to make it better than stock or will stock be just fine? Thanks, Micah

Looking at the 2010s, the 350s are close in size to the 450s. It doesn't look like there is a huge difference between the quads so what is important to her? The 450 might have a slightly better ride. The bigger motor does make a difference but does she care? Sit on any that you are considering before you make up your mind. The price doesn't sound bad.

She sat on the 350 at the local shop and she likes the way it feels. I would love for her to get the 450 but I just cant justify spending 1500 more for the extra CC's. If it were her picking then it would not ave 4wd but I will also be using it when I go hunting.

The 450 has Hi / Low range tranny, the 350 doesn't. Very important if riding rocks and mountains.

Plus Diff lock true AWD,Liguid cooling, digital dash and a Low range.

But I doubt she would care about those things. In Canada that 350 ATV is $7000.

The 2009 350 does have the diff lock according to Yamaha's website, but doesn't have Low range. Also, the 450 has a better speedometer than the 350 and a slightly larger fuel tank. There is only 22 lbs. of weight difference. If it were me using it for hunting I wouldn't get a quad without 4wd. It just gives you more traction, better towing and toting, and the ability to crawl slowly over abusive terrain.

Yes your right the 350 IRS does have diff lock. 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 350 IRS Auto 4x4 Reviews, Prices, and Specs The ATV retails for $5999 so $5100 OTD sounds very good.
