my first question what is the middle hose comming from the back of the carbs is it just a breather hose or should it be connected.

after i installed my dyno jet kit i put it together. it runs put it acts like my throttle is sticking. its starts up[ at very high rpm. i tried to adjust the idle screw put it does very little. it runs like it is at full throttle you can barely puss on the gas.
need some help bad guys

Bash recently made a post containing scanned in images of carb. diagrams. It looked like they came from a shop manual. Look down the list in the Yamaha section.

It sounds like you have the slide reversed. You'll have to remove the slide and make sure the long slot in the slide in lined up with the protrusion in the barrel. If that is in correctly then you might check all boots to be sure they are fully on & clamps tightto eliminate a major air leak.
Now, hopefully you have solved the problem of a fast idle, I have a question for you: Just what procedure did you use to access the carbs in order to remove the bowls? Did you take them loose from the manifold or just from the boots?
All four boots? I had mine stripped down today to replace the main jets but couldn't see an easy way to get at the bowls short of disassembling the whole mess.

the slides only go in one way, as for it idling high this IS what I had a problem with also, what it is is when you leave the cable hooked to the carbs when jetting you pull a bit on the cable, and if you look along the left side of the frame there is a bracket which holds the cable, when you pull on the carbs it pulls on the throttle cable and will idle high, bend the bracket out a bit for the cable to have some freeplay. the hose in the top center is a breather which simply hangs down along the frame, DO NOT let it get crimped as this will make it run like crap! I consider myself a pro at jetting the raptor now! haha thank god for sudco!

Ya, I rerouted my throttle cable wrong too(I can't do anything right!!) and every time I turned the Idle would go up.
