Default spark problems

Try replacing the fuse, and check to make sure everything electrical has good seals. There might be some water or miosture somewhere.

thanks again for everyones help. I ended up takin it to a shop they said there was a bad wire in a box and not all the saftey switches were disconnected. Anyways it was running pretty good for bout an hour or so then it died. i can get it started sometimes but sputters then backfires and dies. Does anybody have an idea on whats happening now?

It has new gas, plug, and wire. The reeds look good, air filter is clean and i put a carb off a running blaster still no luck. Can i check the compression without a special tool? If you hold your thumb over the plug hole and kick it will blow your thumb off the motor. Thanks for the help got anymore suggestions?

What does the condition of the spark look, should be bright blue or purple and consistant, is the float bowl full of fuel? you can ck-that by opening the bowl drain screw, infact if spark and compression is good then it's probably a fuel delivery problem. I don't recommend this often...remove the air filter and spray choke cleaner into the air box, (use discreation) and if it runs for a moment than it's probably a carb. issue. don't use starting fluid (to volitoll), and don't use much because it will wipe the cylinder clean of oil. you should use a compression gauge to know exactly how much you have. most engines require at least 70 to 80psi to start. If she ran for awhile then died, i wouldn't worry about coil and stator, i would think that would be more of a "no start, no spark" condition. hope i was some help, it is frustrating but it can also be a fun puzzle...

Funny thing even though the spark was blue. When i took it to a buddys house to have him look at it all of a sudden i couldnt get spark. The brand new stator burned out i geuss. I put an old one on it and have about three hours of ride time on it with no problems. Thanks for the help
