Here is the story, I took her out last night and here is what is happening, it has a very bad throttle response time at first, then it allmost feels like it has a power band because there is nothing at first and then the power comes on in a rush, as long as the revs are high real high it has all its power but as soon as I let off, it takes a long time to get it going, I have to keep down shifting to get the revs up especially on long road runs, if im low on revs in 4th gear it will not accelerate at all in fact it slows down untill i kick it down a gear. I need to know what to do, any Ideas.

One possibility is a hole or tear in the diaphram for your vacuum slide in the carb, it needs engine vacuum to lift the slide and give more air/fuel into the engine. when the revs get high enough,it pulls it up better, at low rpms, the vac. drops off and it takes time to build back up again to lift the slide.

You could try just disconnecting the air intake and spraying some carb or throttle body cleaner into it and working the slide up and down. That might solve your problem.
What I did is removed the carb completely, took off the covers and removed the rubber diaphragm (carb cleaner will wreck the rubber) and soaked the entire carb in some Gumout carb cleaner overnight, and then brushed all the surfaces clean with an old toothbrush. Once it is apart it's easy to remove the slide and clean it too. Since the diaphragm is out you will be able to tell if it is damaged also. It's worth noting that you will have to be carefull to remember which way everything goes back together.
If your carb is dirty, it's worth doing the whole carb so you can scrub the jets clean as well. You will be happy you did. I also installed a dynojet jet kit (about $45) in it as well since I had it all apart.

Was there a big difference with the jet kit installed, where do you notice a difference low end I hope.

I don't know if it was the cleaning I gave it or the jet kit, but before the bike was really sluggish in low and mid RPM's like yours, and now i have lots of torque all the way through the throttle. I'm guessing your bike will run a lot better through the whole powerband with just a good cleaning. If you want more power, throw in a jet kit, a good flowing air intake, and an aftermarket exhaust if you haven't already.

Thanks to you I took her apart again and noticed the jets were not as clean as I thought, its much better now but still not what it should be, Ive got a carb kit comming so I will take it from there to see if I will go with new jets.
