Default General Wheel/lug nut question

I just bought some Douglas aluminum wheels for a 1995 Breeze. The old wheels had a depression for a cone shaped lug nut. The new wheels are completly flat. Any suggestion for securing the wheel/ lug nut. I'm thinking a lock washer, maybe some loc-tite. Is there a lug nut made to match up with these flat face douglas wheels.

What do you Think?

Just a guess here but I would imagine the stud size and thread pitch is going to be the same on just about any yamaha ATV, not sure though, I think it 10mm X 1.25 but not real sure. If they are, yes they do make lugnuts for those wheels. I have seen some people flip the lugnut with the flat side facing the wheel but I am not sure how comfortable I would be doing it.

Default Douglas Wheels

I put a set of douglas rattlesnakes on a 07 wolverine. I paid for the lug nuts that go with the wheels. They looked nice and work very well. Im not sure I would pay the money and use lug nuts that are not made for the wheel. Seems kind of counter productive. Just my 02 cents worth.

The lugnuts for stock wheels for banshees, raptors, yfz, etc are all flat. You could use those provided the thread pitch and size are the same.

From Douglas website : FAQs
When I replace my wheels from stock to aftermarket what lug nuts should I use? – When switching to an STD center wheel you must use a flat surfaced nut. It can be flanged, or a washer can be used behind the nut.
DO NOT RUN A TAPERED LUG INTO A FLAT SURFACED WHEEL.

DWT Racing Official Site | FAQs

Unfortunately, their online store has still not opened to easily find nice new shiny chrome flanged lug nuts, but you can try one of their online dealers from their list.

We went with Rocky Mnt's universal flanged lug nut and they've stayed tight so far.

Thanks for the info. The quick solution was to flip the tapered nut back it with a washer and use impact wrench to tighten. I think it will hold. I'm going to pismo dunes after xmas. my 9 yo son will probably be switching back and forth from his raptor 80 and this breeze. Breeze has been sitting for about 3 or 4 years. got it running again but I never know how long it will last. This has been a well abused machine. I'll keep an eye on lug tightness.

Thanks again for the info.
