Any one care to mention what is a good price for a 2001 Raptor? (New). I just picked one up from the dealer on friday, along with a 2001 Badger fot the kid. The Raptor was sold to me for $6100.00 and $2400.00 for the Badger. The Raptor is pretty quick - I guess.(Its the first and only 4 wheeler I have ever ridden).Bought it to beat around the yard with the kid. Any idea what these things (Raptor) will turn in a 1/4 mile. How about horsepower ratings. (Stock)... Thanks in advance...

No2strokeBs; thanks for some numbers for stock vs modified Raptor. What kind of pipe do you have on your bike. I like the improvement that you've gained with your Raptor. Is the pipe loud? That's my only concern; noise level.... Thanks again for the info...

I have the Big Gun full system. With proper jetting it made a pretty good difference on teh bike, but than again any good pipe would ahve done the same. Some ones to consider are the Big gun, CT Racing, Greydon, and Sparks. Any of these pipes with the right jetting will run pretty good and all are pretty clost in performance. Downside is noise, any pipe tht makes decent power is gonna make a considerable ammount of noise, but you know that since u are familiar with the dragstrip. A stock 4-cat h-pipe and stock mufflers and hedders on a 5.0 Mustang wont flow for s*it, but a set of long tubes, no cat h-pipe and some 2-chamber Flowmasters will, but you know how it is going to sound.

I payed $6400 out the door. If this is your first quad BE CAREFULL!! Mine is a little more than a week old and the power is crazy. I have riden about 8 years but it has been about 4 since I rode last. I have been yery happy so far. I took it to the moto track last week for the first time and it was a blast!!

Your first quad and you go for a Raptor? Probably not the best move you could have made, especially if you only want it for tooling around the yard with your kid. But, live and let live (and crash and learn)
In Canada they sell for $2much.00 + taxes

How do you figure a Raptor is to much money here in Canada. With the current exchange rate 6100 US equals approximately 9400 CDN. I bought my Raptor for 9200 CDN. I think that is cheaper than what some US buyers are paying.

Yea, that's what the dealer here is selling them for too.
Maybe you don't think that 10 grand out the door is a bit much for a toy, but it's just not in my budget.
With a 4x4 quad you can use it as a toy and a tool, so the cost is easier to justify.

I don't want to start a 2x4 vs 4x4 argument, cause I'd LOVE to have a raptor. I just think a 4x4 is a more sensible purchase, as least where I live.
