1987 Yamaha Motor-4 Champ...Good buy?
There's one for sale nearby. The kid says it's been sitting for a while, maybe a year. He doesn't know how to wrench it but says it worked pretty well. He's only asking $185 for it. Is it worth it just for the parts? [if it's unrepairable]
It's a starter quad for my son. Is there anything I should look for when I go see it? What, if any, troubles was this model known for?
Thanks in advance,
Geoff
[should be Moto-4] and it's 100cc

For example, years ago I had a Datsun 260Z. The original was the 240Z. The original name was "Datsun Fairlady..." Would not have sold well in the US under that name.
I will pick it up either way. Like you said, in parts alone it would make me money. If it runs, great. Seems like a win-win.
