Default about to purchase raptor 660 - any tips/advice?

Well, I sold my cherry '88 warrior (I miss it already!) And now I am zeroing in on a 660 raptor. I know about the typical issues, starter clutch, '01s have the bad tranny...but is there anything else to be on the look out for?

I am specifically looking at an '03 limited edition. Its for sale by the original owner. Motor is untouched -not even a slip on exhaust!... just 'bolt on' goodies like nerfs, 6 pack rack, front bumper, grill guard and aftermarket handle bars (can't recall name), and brand new razr 2 tires all around - for $3K. I have only seen pics at this point, but its looks cherry! I have talked to the owner over the phone -he is an 'adult' so I feel real good about it so far. Its about a 2.5 hour drive from me, so I want to know about any 'typical' issues to look for.

So, any thoughts or tips, etc. would be appreciated. I can't wait to get into the saddle of a 660! My buddy has one and its soooo sweet. My warrior was a nice ride, but this is going to take my riding to a whole new level!!

go here and ask for scott(admin)or dan (phucker) they pretty much know anything about a 660 that you would want to know Raptor-Central - Index
