Unhappy No ignition

Wow what did I do. Keys were misplaced and the kids couldn't wait for a new ignition so I stripped the wires at the ignition switch and twisted them together to start. It worked problem is one of the wires touched metal and sparked oh no now I have no power at all. Found some fuses under the seat and all is well in there. Help what did I do...... the kids say help too...
