hi all, i have a 2003 grizzly 660 and it needs front and rear diffs rebuilt, however i was just wondering if a kodiak 450 or big bear diffs are the same? and what about axles? or anything else? cuz i might be able to get my hands on a scrapped 450....

anyone help me out ?

Use this site, OEM motorcycle and ATV parts from Honda, Yamaha & Polaris – Cycle Parts Warehouse and if the parts number of the different parts are the same then they will work.

Problem with the 03 Grizzly axles is they were weaker then the 02 and 04s and up. Yamaha tried to cost save on the 03 axles from the 02 and it did not work out so good,so they went to a different axle in 04 that fits the 03 grizzly.
Don,t know if there was any Diff changes though.

 

ya i have 05 axles in the rear of it now on one side but the diff bearings are shot. i know the kodiak bearing kits are the same i was just hoping that the internals were too..

 

Go through that link I gave you, it will be a bit of fooling and clicking but will tell you what avt parts are interchangable.

 

Unfortunately they are different. We just rebuilt the rear diff on my buddies '02 660 Griz, and we had found a Grizzly 600 that a guy was parting out for cheap, but they were totally different.
