I think it was the March Issue of Dirwheels that had a 400EX exhaust shootout. They even gave out sound levels. The E-Series was insanely loud (IMHO). They said there was some kind of Quiet..something accessory to make them quieter (from 100dB down to a more reasonable 94dB). But even thats louder than the 93dB limit of the Oregon Dunes. Stock EX was 88dB.

I'm thinking the yamaha slip-on might be quiet enough, or maybe the SuperTrapp E.A.R. series -designed specifically for low sound AND increased power. That's what engineering should be about - not those yahoos that pack some fiberglass in an aluminum case and call is a 'silencer' when it puts out over 100dB! Yikes, you must need ear plugs to ride that thing. Automobiles call those things glass packs and are illegal for onroad use in most states (because they are too loud).

Hmmm... sorry to get on my soap box. Good luck.

The Dirtwheels test actually showed the White Bros. E-Series to be one of the quieter ones. It tested at 95 decibles, tied with the Yoshamura and Pro Circuit. The only one quieter was the Stroker SX1 but was much less powerfull. The CT racing silencer was the only one to match the E-series' power but it done it at 102 decibles. White Bros. also offers a quiet core insert that lowers the sound to 92 decibles.

Hey 660R, I was wondering if you had compared the loudness of your GYT-R silencer to any other aftermarket ones. I was thinking getting one but loudness is an issue for me and i've been told the GYT-R is very loud. Thanks for any info.

Hey Scoob, I was thinking about getting the Big Gun pipe for my Raptor, what makes it crap? If you are going to say something is crap you should say why it's crap. I have no experience with them at all so I would like your take on the pipe.

BTW Do you call your ride "The Mystery Machine"
