Default 2002 Raptor grinding when starting?

Hey guys I could get a very good deal on a 2002 Raptor 660 but the owner says that is "grinds" when you go to start it. He says you can still get it to start though. Is this a huge issue? The rest of the quad is good as far as he told me. I'm mechanically inclined but will this be a headache? I'm going to check out the quad soon so any advice is great.

Probably the one way sprag bearing going out, not real hard to change, but get it done before is either locks up, or falls apart and puts metal parts in the engine.

yea most likely its that one way starter clutch taking a pewp, people usually replace it with an L.A. desgins one, its a very common thing with raptors, and the L.A. one is awesome.... Home of the one way starter clutch for the Yamaha Raptor 660. Our high performance one way starter clutch replaces the oem one way starter clutch.
